Jeremy Gibson
Jeremy Gibson (DJ Jarlsberg) grew up in downtown NYC & Brooklyn surrounded by the arts, specifically music and dance. His father Jon Gibson, was a founding member of the Philip Glass Ensemble and an influential composer. His mother, Nancy Topf was a successful dancer, so you can only imagine how much great music was played throughout Jeremy’s childhood. Jeremy attended Fiorello H. Laguardia High School of Music & Art, and Performing Arts as a music major. After graduating from Hampshire College with a Bachelor of Arts in Music & Film, he was signed as a musician to Definitive Jux for his comedy hip hop act “Party Fun Action Committee.” He created the medieval comedic rapping alter ego named “Sir Jarlsberg” and has performed as Sir Jarlsberg internationally.
Jeremy started DJing professionally 18 year ago, spinning at numerous bars and clubs around NYC. Shortly after, he started to work weddings and private events and has been doing that ever since. He takes pride in being able to creatively read crowds, while not pushing his own musical agenda. He has a knack of playing the song you didn’t remember you loved just at the right moment. Some of his favorite genres include: 80’s, Disco, Motown, Soul, Oldies, Latin, Dancehall, Afro Beat, Soca, Classic Reggae, Classic R&B, 90’s-2000’s R&B, Old School Hip-Hop, Trap, Classic House,EDM, Electronic, Pop from all eras, Rock, Lounge, and Country.
