Duane's musical journey began at the age two: his father says he was immediately attracted to the sound of Bob Marley coming from the family’s stereo – and it’s been all downhill since. At age 14, Duane moved with his family from Brooklyn to the Midwest and he soon became the youngest radio DJ in Nebraska. He returned to New York in 1996 and became a manager at Other Music, New York’s best known independent record store.
He was a founder of the popular Negroclash party at APT featuring ‘80s R&B and disco tracks. He’s also well-versed in funk, soul, hip-hop, house and indie rock. He also produces and remixes records with a partner under the name Bim Marx.
