Dre Ovalle’s earliest music memories revolve around the sounds that came out of his mother’s stereo. Born and raised in Trenton, NJ, this would include genres that spoke to his Guatemalan heritage (salsa, merengue, bachata) as well as all of the popular music that was accessible on the local radio stations. This included classic rock, freestyle, heavy metal and popular 80s music, all of which had a major impact on Dre.
He was playing guitar by age 14 but, for his 15th birthday, Dre begged for a basic DJ set up and that’s when things got serious. By the age of 18, Dre was DJing underground raves and techno parties in and around Trenton. By 2013, Dre was a full time DJ and also added private events to the mix of music projects he juggles week to week.
