Dan Tipton
Born and raised in Brooklyn, Dan Tipton was always drawn to the Hip-Hop and Dancehall blasting out of passing cars. With a background in Jazz and Classical piano and the influence of musicians in his family, he developed an early taste for a wide range of music. First hitting the decks in 2012, he developed his craft at Scratch DJ Academy and further expanded his knowledge working at the Turntable Lab record store.
He enjoys the balancing act of crowd pleasing and trying to take people to new places; bringing the energy of some newer hits with trips down memory lane. He’s held residencies at Friends and Lovers, Bembe, and Bed Vyne Brew, played in LA and London, and opened for the likes of Dam Funk, DJ Spinna, Stretch Armstrong, Bobbito Garcia, Natasha Diggs, and Grand Wizard Theodore.
In addition to DJing, Dan creates original production, sample based production, remixes, and edits and you can catch his radio show every 2nd Wednesday at 1pm on Half Moon Radio.
