Ben Carlin
Ben Carlin began studying music at the Brooklyn Conservatory of Music and became, at age five, the school’s youngest student. By the time he was a teenager, he was a well-versed classical pianist, but gravitated toward hip-hop, to him the most vibrant form of music at the time – and certainly the most prevalent in his neck of the woods. He began rapping and building an extensive record collection, which led him to explore the art of DJing, which he has now done professionally for over a decade.
As a musician Ben appreciates how different genres can work together and he brings that understanding to the job every time he places a needle on a record. This combination of technical skill and music theory creates a seamless vibe that can rock any type of party regardless of the guests’ age or background. He can be found most weekend nights spinning classic funk and soul all over the metro area. He also finds time to DJ 40 to 50 weddings a year.
