Aaron’s (DJ Alias) earliest music memories began while listening to tapes in his Father’s Buick. The power of that diverse music included Motown, Mozart, Louis Armstrong, Led Zeppelin, Bob Marley and Bob Dylan just to name a few. Those car rides shaped his listening habits, birthing a DJ who now blends between genres the world over.
That said, it was a love for Hip Hop culture that initially brought Alias to the turntables. After receiving a football scholarship to SUNY Buffalo and earning a Master’s Degree in education Alias decided it was time to not just be a fan but also an active participant. It was not easy leaving his position as a middle school English teacher in 2005 but there was early success and now he is now celebrating his 10th anniversary as a resident DJ at Piano’s (LES) and can also be found spinning regularly at Soda Bar (BK).
At this point in his career, Alias knows how to hold a dance floor for 6 hours straight after playing over 350 weddings. With clean seamless mixes, and carefully thought out playlists Alias uses the music you love to make your wedding night the most explosive dance party of your life.
